Face shapes
Diamond face shape
The cheekbones are clearly the widest point, with a narrower forehead and jaw and a pointed chin.
What a diamond face is
The cheekbones dominate: they are noticeably wider than both the forehead and the jaw. The face narrows above and below them, the chin is pointed and the hairline is often narrow.
How to tell
- Cheekbones are the widest part by a clear margin.
- The forehead is narrower than the cheekbones.
- The jaw is narrow and the chin pointed.
- The face looks angular at the sides, not at the top.
Hairstyles
- Volume at the forehead and around the jaw evens out the width.
- Tight, slicked-back styles expose the narrow forehead.
- Fringes and side volume are your friends.
Glasses
- Cat-eye, oval and rimless frames soften the cheekbones.
- Narrow rectangles exaggerate the width of the cheeks.
Beard and facial hair
A short beard that widens the jaw, plus a moustache to fill the mid-face, balances the prominent cheekbones.
