Round face shape

Length and width are close, the contours are soft and the cheeks are full. The jaw curves without angles and the chin is rounded.

What a round face is

A round face is nearly as wide as it is long. There are no hard angles: the cheekbones are full, the jawline curves and the chin is soft. The overall impression is circular rather than elongated.

How to tell

  • Length and width are very similar.
  • The widest point is the cheeks, not the forehead or jaw.
  • The jawline curves instead of turning an angle.
  • Cheeks look full even at a healthy weight.

Hairstyles

  • Height on top and tighter sides — quiff, pompadour, high fade — adds length.
  • Chin-length bobs that end at the widest point make the face look wider.
  • Long straight layers below the chin lengthen the silhouette.

Glasses

  • Angular frames — square, rectangular, browline — bring structure.
  • Round frames repeat the shape and soften it further.

Beard and facial hair

A short beard with a defined jawline creates the angle the face lacks. Round, full beards add width, which is the opposite of what you want here.
